Joys Of Experiencing Italian Exchange Visit

I had the overwhelming joy of visiting Arezzo in Italy quite a few years ago – my daughter was in the youth orchestra and noted for clarinet playing – the town nearest to our village had a very vibrant italian community and we benefitted from their support for an annual exchange programme between musicians from each town.  I’m not sure how long this had been going on but we were lucky enough to participate.  We stayed with the families of their players, and they stayed with us en famille.  It is great to see how other folk live.  Gorgeous, hundreds of years old some of their village houses – none of this ripping places down to rebuild with concrete blocks of flats – their apartments were stylish, with history by the bucket load.  Water supply and loo operation was a tad variable, but this was forgiven when taken in with the grander scheme of things
